Work with us on Fritzing
Fritzing is an initiative to help designers and artists move their ideas for interactive devices from prototype to product. Developed in the spirit of Processing and Arduino, the project encompasses both a cross-platform software application and a website for exchanging knowledge and ideas. We are looking for interface designer/programmers, online community developers, and software developers who understand physical computing to assist in this initiative.
The
project is initiated by the Interaction Design program at FH Potsdam
and supported by Arduino, Tinker.it, and several physical computing
programs around the world. More information can be found at http://fritzing.org.
What needs to be made
- The application to be developed is an electronic circuit board development tool for everyday people. It will allow users to move from the the abstraction of a system drawing to the physical reality of a printed circuit board. Developers with experience with Java application development, Eclipse frameworks and Eagle ULPs, as well as Interaction Designers with experience in GUI design and information design are desired.
- The website will allow people to share their designs and learn from each other's work, and to contribute extensions to the application, to begin with. Interaction designers and developers with experience with community websites are desirable for this aspect of the project.
Working conditions
The project is centered in Berlin, but
we are open to different types of collaboration that suits your needs.
Come to Berlin to work for a short, focused period, or work part time
remotely. The current project funding extends to the end of December
2007.
Application
Please check out http://fritzing.org/development/jobs
and find a task that you would like to work on. In your application,
please include links to examples of your work and a short statement as
to how your work relates to physical computing, open source
initiatives, or both. Also tell us on what time and location basis you would be available. Send your application (or questions) to info@fritzing.org.
