First shields produced

Simon Wimmer's mouseLamp with a Fritzing PCB

During their first semester at FHP, students in the physical interaction design class got  into the lucky situation to be our guinea pigs: They used Fritzing from version 0001 on and were asked to turn their ideas into actual PCBs. A lot of pressure, considering that most of them hadn't even heard of a resistor before.

But with only little extra support they made their way and five students completed the full Fritzing cycle: Made a working breadboard sketch, transferred it to Fritzing (version 0003 back then!), exported to Eagle, and etched the board in our new low-cost PCB lab. The picture shows Simon's wonderful mouseLamp.

Congratulations to everyone and thanks for going through this! We encourage you to try this out yourself. Expect some hurdles, but no ladder is required.

P.S.: Markus Wutzlhofer got so excited about his first term here that he expressed it in a video -- watch out for the Conrad catalog!
