Creating a PCB Layout
Export your circuit from Fritzing to Eagle and create a PCB layout.
In order to create a PCB (Printed Circuit Board) layout from your Fritzing sketch, you will need to export your circuit to Eagle and edit your board´s layout using the custom Fritzing Edit Menu inside Eagle.
Exporting to Eagle
- Select File > Export > as Arduino Shield PCB...
- Eagle will start and open the Control Panel window and the Board window.
Editing a board´s layout
Make sure you configured Eagle so that the custom Fritzing Edit Menu is visible.
- Start editing your board by rearranging parts. Select Arrange Parts > Move.
Click on a part and drag it to a better location on the board. Use Rotate and Select Group similarly.
- Continue by routing parts. Select Auto-route > Single-sided (or Double-sided for routing parts on both sides of the board). You can also manually route, change wire width or rip up using the Refine routing options.
- Add text and graphics to your board using the Add graphics options.
Exporting a PCB Layout
Your PCB layout should now be ready to be exported. Use the Export options for printing or creating an image/PDF of your board. Read the CAM Export section to learn how to create Gerber files for your PCB manufacturer, or produce a PCB yourself with the help of the DIY PCB section.
