Accommodation

There are pensions (board houses) and hotels available. Pensions are usually nicer, more personal, and cheaper than hotels.
It seems that this time more people are staying in Berlin:

Berlin

Motel One: Our top recommendation if you want to stay in Berlin. Central location and nice price. The one at Alexanderplatz is easiest, then the one at Ku'damm, then Mitte.
Melarose Feng Shui Hotel: Another good value hotel close to Alexanderplatz.
Berlin Lodge: Nice private apartments if you intend to stay a bit longer.
St. Christopher's Hostel: Central and cheap.

Public Transportation

Closest stop is "Campus Fachhochschule", take Tram lines 92 & 96 from Potsdam central station to get there.
Check the connections with Berlin Transportation Services (BVG).

From Berlin

Take the RegionalExpress (RE) from Berlin Central, Alexanderplatz, Friedrichstraße or Zoo to Potsdam Central Station (directions Magdeburg or Werder). Continue from there as described above.

From Airport Tegel (TXL)
Take Bus X9 or 109 to "Zoologischer Garten" (Zoo) and from there the RE as explained above (45 min).
Alternatively, Taxi takes you in 30 min for 40€.

From Airport Schönefeld (SXF)
Take the RegionalExpress to Berlin, and then another RE as explained above. There's also one that takes you directly, the RB22, at :51 every hour (55 min).
Alternatively, Taxi takes you in 40 min for 45€.
