Arduino nano

Posted by Ullrich Schäfer at August 20. 2008

Hello,

I wanted the nano board in Fritzing, and since it wasn't there i created one :)

Just unzip the attached file in FRITZING_HOME/libraries/user

I still got some questions. The Arduino nano is intended to be plugged in the breadboard, just as it is, without any wiring. Is there a way to accomplish that?

Thanks for Fritzing!

Keep it up and spread the word!

Hi Ullrich,

thanks for working with Fritzing and even creating a new part! Super nice!

However, we have to warn you a little bit ... for right now all of us are focussing on the new version of Fritzing, which will be a complete rewrite of the old Fritzing. That will mean that parts made for Fritzing 0005 will probably not be compatible with our next release.

And yeah, in the current (old) version of Fritzing, things with multiple pins unfortunately don't snap and connect automatically to the breadboard. That is a bug. And we are working very hard on the new version to make it behave correctly this time around.

We hope you could please be patient, because the new version of Fritzing will be much better than the old version. We aim our alpha release to be ready mid October. This release should at least cover all the functionality you have in the last version 0005.

Thanks again for the interest shown and thanks so much for the effort of making the Arduino nano part! We will sure try to add this part in our next release.

Ok, great news!! :)

Was a bit worried when the page was down a couple of days earlier this month. But glad there's a new version in the making.

About the parts i created.. don't worry. The hardest part was to understand how they were build. I guess will be able to "port" the part on the new version, no idea how it's going to look though.

I'm working on my diploma thesis at the moment and will have time to start working with fritzing from the beginning of October. And it will be much playing around and no productive work till then. So having a working version of fritzing from the beginning of November would be great!! :)

Best regards from Dresden to Potsdam. Not that far :)
