Mac OSX requirements?
Up to Installation
Fritzing unable to start up --OS10.3.9 and java.version=1.4.2_12 and getting an error upon trying to launch Fritzing. error log indicates multiple errors of "!MESSAGE Missing required bundle"
Hi Jeff,
the OS X version should be fine, but you need a Java version >= 1.5. I hope that that fixes the errors.

Ok so it looks to me based on the downloads at apple that Fritzing requires Mac OS 10.4 at a minimum since the J2SE 5.0 requires OS 10.4.
Yeah, it seems that Apple doesn't support Java 1.5 (released in September '04) on Panther (not even on 10.3.9, released in April '05..). That is, officially -- there exists a user-contributed script to get 1.5 going on Panther from a mailing list thread J2SE on OS X, Panther. No idea if this works, though.
We just had a discussion on this and we decided that we want to stay with Java 1.5 as a minimum, because we want to benefit from the improvements to the underlying frameworks (especially Eclipse GMF), which will require 1.5 soon. This newer version of Java has matured by now and offers some very nice new programming concepts. Also see the processing comments on this topic.
We are aware that some people still have Panther, but we assume that this proportion will get smaller and smaller while Fritzing gets out of alpha.
